1973 FORD FALCON XB- $79999
The XB series was introduced in 1973 as the second iteration to the Falcon, with production
running until 1976. The XB was the replacement to the XA, receiving minor cosmetic
changes. The GT model lined continued through the XB series in Sedan and Hardtop
variants.
This particular example is an excellent XB Falcon GT tribute presented in a beautiful
combination of gloss black paintwork with silver highlights. GT themed elements include ‘GT
351’ stickers on the front quarters, GT style bonnet and grille. Adding to the tough look of this
XB GT tribute is a set of centreline autodrags that appear at each corner, running Mickey
Thompson ET Street Radials on the rear.
The contrasting beige and brown trim presents well, with a series of tasteful aftermarket
upgrades installed to enhance the driving experience. These include a SAAS steering wheel,
B&M Pro Ratchet shifter and a Sony headunit. A set of Speco Meter oil pressure and water
temperature gauges are placed outside the windshield for a tough pro street look.
This XB Falcon runs a 351ci 2v V8 that had been reconditioned not long ago. The 351 is
mated to a newly built C4 transmission with power put to the ground via a new 9-inch
differential with 31 splines and Truetrac 3.5 gears. The front suspension is new too.
