The luxury ‘Chrysler by Chrysler’ was introduced in 1971 as a replacement to the outgoing Chrysler VIP, competing directly with the Holden Statesman and Ford Fairlane. The CH was offered in sedan and hardtop variants with 265ci straight-six, 318ci V8 and 360ci V8 options available. Standard equipment such as front disc brakes, power windows and push button radio set the ‘Chrysler by Chrysler’ apart from the ‘Valiant’ range.

This particular example is an Adelaide built, 1971 Chrysler by Chrysler CH Hardtop in black with black paisley vinyl roof. A high-end restoration was undertaken between 2012 to 2014 and since completion, has barely been driven. Chrome and stainless highlights present very well against the black body. ‘Chrysler by Chrysler’ hubcaps complete the look, wrapped in a set of white wall tyres. This CH is believed to be a 1 of 399 example.

The interior epitomises Chrysler’s luxury in the 70s with black brocade folding bucket bench style seats, black vinyl throughout and wood grain highlights to the dash fascia, steering wheel and door trims. This CH features a factory Chrysler Australia ‘self search’ radio cassette, factory air conditioning, power windows and power front seat.

This CH Hardtop features it’s original, factory 360ci V8 mated to a 727 automatic transmission. This combination provides for an enjoyable period correct cruising experience.
